Introduction of Hakka Studies Center in NCU
本中心於1997年1月成立籌備處,並於1999年12月經校務會議通 過正式成立,定名為客家研究中心。其宗旨在配合本校發展長程規劃, 以「客家研究中心」為核心,結合學校與地方資源,推動客家歷史文化 及相關社會科學的研究,使其發展成為本校人文暨社會研究的特色。
In January 1997, we started our preparatory office. In December 1999, the School Administration Committee granted our operation and we were settled as the Hakka Studies Center. The purpose of this center is to focus on Hakka Studies with the support of school and local resources. We hope to initiate studies on Hakka history and relevant social science and hence to help establish characteristics of humanistic and social studies for our school.
中心發展目標,在針對客家文化的歷史與現實課題,透過人文社 會科學跨領域的研究,兼顧理論與實務,提供政府與國內外社會各界具 體可行的建議。其發展方向為:
We intend to discuss the issues of Hakka history and social reality by means of interdisciplinary studies of humanity, society and science. Theory and Practice would be equally important in our studies so we could provide the government and occupations of various fields at home and abroad with practical suggestions. The followings are our directions:
(一)學術研究 Academic Research
透過歷史學、社會學、人類學、民族學、語言學、和民俗學等
人文社會科學跨學科的整合,全面系統地研究台灣客家族群的源流遷
徙、社會經濟、語言文化、宗教禮俗、族群關係等;並進行台灣客屬
文化與海外地區的客家文化比較研究。除致力客家族群與其他族群間
互動的族群生態關係之探討外,同時討論客家族群本身的歷史文化與
政治社會結構的變化,以助於深入研究複雜的華人社會。
Through the interdisciplinary studies of Historiograpy, Sociology,
Anthropology, Ethnology, Linguistics, and Folklore, we hope to do a
research on Hakka people \'s movement, economics, language and culture,
religion and custom, and ethnic relations. Besides, we would also like to
encourage the comparative studies on Hakka culture in Taiwan and abroad.
To get a better understanding of Chinese society, we would also discuss the
changes of Hakka history as well as its political and social construction.
(二)教育推廣 Expansion of Education
為保存傳揚客家優美文化資產,將規劃客家語言與藝術推廣教
育活動,有計劃長期培育民間曲藝文化人才並舉辦各類客家歷史文
化研習活動:同時提供各縣市中小學鄉土教材設計及師資培訓的管
道。
To preserve Hakka culture, we intend to organize several Hakka
language and art appreciation activities. We hope to cultivate specialized
people in Hakka folklore through workshops. The teacher preparatory
lessons for local geography and history of high schools and primary
schools will also be provided.
(三) 政策研擬 Politics Draft
通盤檢討近年來各層級政府機關所擬定之有關客家各項發展計
劃,並提供整體性長期發展規劃意見,進而藉由學術研究評估,成
為政府及社會各界有關客家議題的專業諮詢服務窗口。
We would examine the government\'s politics about the development
of Hakka on a general basis and also provide practical suggestions as to
Hakka\'s long-term development. We intend to become a service center
which provides specialized advises on Hakka issues by means of academic
research and evaluation.
為落實上述研究教學與社會服務的功能目標,近三年來陸續推
動下列活動:如客家民俗文化研討會、第四屆國際客家學研討會、
客家專題講座、跨世紀客家研究座談會、族群關係與地方開發座談
會、臺灣客家文學營、客家母語種子教師研習、客家文化廣播講座
、客語教學、客家田野踏查等。今(2000)年亦將陸續推展客家與
媒體學術研討會、客家學研究生論文研討會、兩岸客家風情畫展、
客家研究研習營,以及執行客家基礎資料田野調查工作、完成客家
基礎資料調查之報告與應用、推動客家社會與文化等相關研究調查
計劃。
To substantiate the aforementioned purposes, we\'d been holding the
following activities in the recent 3 years: the seminar of Hakka folk culture,
the 4th International Hakka studies Conference, the Hakka seminar, the
symposium of Hakka Studies at Year 2000, the Panel Discussion of Ethnic
Relation and Local Development, the Camp of Taiwan Hakka Literature,
the Workshop of Preparing Teachers for Teaching Hakka as a Mother
Tongue, the Seminar of Hakka Culture Broadcasting, Teaching Hakka, and
the Field Studies of Hakka. This year, we are also going to host the
symposium of Hakk and Media Studies, the Panel Discussion of Hakka
graduates\' Paper, The Painting Exhibition of Hakka in Taiwan and
Mainland, the Workshop of Hakka Studies. We will also launch field
studies on Hakka\'s basic data, complete the research on the application of
Hakka\'s basic data, and initiate project on studying Hakka and social issues.
未來本中心規劃各研究組整合研究資源,促進客家文化研究水準
提昇,待累積研究成果至相當程度後,將成立客家學相關研究所,並
朝設置客家學院邁進,使成為台灣及國際客家學研究樞紐。
In the future, we would like to coordinate the research resources of
various projects, and improve the level of Hakka studies. As our research
results are accumulated to a certain extent, we would found a graduate
program of Hakka Studies, and then a Hakka Department. In the long run,
we expect ourselves to become a pivot of Hakka Studies both in Taiwan
and abroad.
