Haplogroup O is common in Chinese populations
75% Chinese people are of Haplogroup O
56% Han Chinese are haplogroup O3 (a sub-type of O)

A branch (O3) migrated to Yellow River (Hua-xia 华夏)
A sub-branch of O3 (O3-M7) became part of Miao-yao
A branch (O1) migrated to southeast China (Bai-yue 百越)
A branch (O2) : minority groups in southwest China

Haplogroups in Ancient China
O3: Hua-xia 华夏 – North; O3-M7; Miao-yao (苗瑶) - Yangzi river

Haplogroup N is common in North Asia
Haplogroup N is most common in North Asia, Siberia, Eastern Europe (Finland, Hungary)

Results: Haplogroups of Hakka is most similar to Northern Hans
Out of the 405 samples (108 surnames) we tested, there are 297 families. Many surnames show various origins.
Each family is assigned to haplogroups based on the genetic testing results.
Majority of the Hakka families are of haplogroups originated from the North (O3, N, C3, Q1).
Only small set of them are of haplogroups originated from south (O1, O2, O3-M7)
Most Hakka belong to haplogroups originated from North
The paternal ancestry of Hakka are mostly from northern Hans
Y-haplogroup represent people sharing paternal ancestry
Most Hakka belong to haplgroups originated in north China (Asia)
Frequencies of Hakka's haplogroups are similar to Northern Han Chinese’s
Hakka‘s haplogroup freq. are different from southern aboriginal people (Yao 瑶, Li 黎, etc)
Strong scientific evidence: Hakka's ancestors are Hans from northern China
