Upcoming hardware reboots for security updates (June 22nd)

Starting tomorrow evening (June 22nd) we'll begin slowly upgrading all of our KVM slice nodes to the latest kernel, as well as accompanying drivers.

This upgrade is required to address recent Intel related security failures like "Zombieload", but will also address a network & CPU performance regression caused by extremely high interrupt rates on our host nodes.
The regression came about with a recent round of software updates we applied back in March, but has only recently started to become an issue.

This regression is currently causing network speeds to fall below 100Mbit, and even well under that in some cases.
This regression is also causing a fairly serious drop in CPU performance, upwards of 30% depending on the workload.

We have a workaround we've been applying to some nodes and are confident that it isn't causing any adverse effects. With these reboots, a permanent fix will be put in place.

We expect this maintenance window to take over a week to complete, but each individual node should be completed within 5 to 15 minutes.

Block Storage Slab users will experience a longer than average outage as some of the drivers required can't be pre-compiled prior to the reboot.
